Litigation work

We are one of the few law Firms/offices in the country capable of handling both litigation and non-litigation (consultancy) work especially with regard to banking cases, corporate matters and arbitration. With our dedicated team of litigation experts, we have represented different individual and organizational clients at all levels of civil and criminal jurisdiction, which also includes service matters.

The billing methodology for our services is normally time-based particularly for non-litigation work which shall include legislative drafting, opinion/consultancy work, or any other work not covered under Litigation Work as mentioned below.

Preparation & Vetting of Documents

As regards preparation and vetting of documents, we have legally examined/evaluated miscellaneous documentation for clients in the banking sector including (i) charter/constitutional documents (Articles, Memorandum of Association, etc.); (ii) various loan agreements and (iii) authorizations/NOCs from concerned governmental / local / regulatory authorities.

Dispute Resolution, Litigation and Commercial Arbitration

Arbitration forms another strong area of practice for us, wherein our litigation expertise is invaluable in pursing our clients’ cases before the Arbitrator(s). This assistance can include serving and deposing witnesses, providing expert advice.

Corporate and Commercial Law

We advise a wide spectrum of clients on the intricacies of setting up business and the legal ramifications of all the peripheral issues involved in the process. Examples of the issues with which the Firm deals in advising a client on the formation of a business are researching the forms of businesses allowed; structuring the business to conform to both the client’s and the jurisdiction’s requirements; negotiating and drafting the relevant agreements; and obtaining necessary documents and licenses from the appropriate ministry, to name but a few. Our law Firm also advises its clients on more specific corporate and commercial issues. One of the most common and helpful services we provide to our clients is reviewing existing agreements and documents to determine if their terms are legal or not.

Construction Contracts

With regard to Construction Contracts we have a team consisting of Lawyers, Engineers and Quantity Surveyors. We advise on all type of contracts (FIDIC based as well as hybrid) keeping in view the customs and needs of the employer. We identify the client’s primary business objective and develop and implement solutions to meet that objective. We have an intimate understanding of the business and provide support based on our experience on both sides of the table. We have served the needs of Employers, Contractors and Sub-Contractors in the industry for some time now, and understand the difficulties that make the resolution of disputes a difficult process, and we can develop the best strategies, in line with our clients, to overcome these difficulties. Our scope of work inter alia, consists of consultation, advice on submission of heads of claims, timing and contents of submission; advice with problems of payment, contra charges, set-off, counter claims and EOT; advice on the contractual and legal validity of claims and arbitration.

Intellectual Property

Another important aspect of business for corporations is intellectual property. Advice on these intellectual property matters includes searching, filing and renewing trademarks and trade-names, obtaining patents and patent registrations and preventing the unauthorized use of client’s trademarks, trade-names and patents. The Firm advises on issues relating to various infringements, such as counterfeit and piracy, and on the means of remedying those infringements.

Banking and Finance

The Firm also represents banks and financial institutions and functions as the outside counsel for major banks and corporations for all aspects of their corporate legal work and provides clients with a variety of legal services ranging from consultancy on a multiple banking and securities law and securitization issues to litigation. We assist on various transactions ranging from debt syndication to sale of foreign securities, trading accounts, infrastructure project financing and general compliance with local financial laws and regulations.

Real Estate

The firm has been and is, at the moment, advising real estate developers on areas ranging from drafting of agreements for single unit to joint ventures, dealing with authorities like DHA etc. with regards to different issues of infrastructure and commercial deals. Preparing documents for property handover and facility management. We are the only legal firm that can assist in A to Z issues faced by a real estate developer from incorporation till the project hand over to the end user.
